I am back, baby!

February 19, 2008 · 3 Comments

Hello again everyone! I am so sorry I just disappeared like that. I had some personal health problems I had to take care of. Then, our computer decided to do a slow death. So we had to start replacing parts and wiping hard drives.

Yes, I am in blog mourning for all of my blogging stuff I lost in the wiping of our computer.

But I am back…as long as we can stay ahead of our breaking computer. I do, however, have to re-evaluate my problogging, my number of blogs, and all that jazz. The burning the candle at both ends probably didn’t help my health any either. But I just wanted to let everyone (if there are any readers left) know I am back but some things are changing. But just keep coming back!

You will never believe who actually wrote me back…

January 4, 2008 · 1 Comment

Ok…so I wrote Darren Rowse an e-mail…you know him…THE Problogger…and he actually wrote me back. If you are a blogger who are trying to be a great blogger, you not only know who he is but has probably memorized his blog backwards and fowards. And the guy actually wrote me back. I just had to tell someone (and my hubby is an eye roller and would not understand how big…i mean totally big this is)
I can’t even concentrate now. How in the heck am I going to get any work done today. Yea..I am still going to tell my hubby and maybe he will actually be alittle (if not fake) excited for me. Maybe I should jump up and down to show him just how big this is. And maybe it was just one of his people who wrote me back for him, but still …holy cow…this is going to make my month…if not my year. What a great way to start out my year…Happy New Year. It just goes to show ya…even the little blogger can still be heard!

What Is This Blog Really About?

January 2, 2008 · 1 Comment

We moved to Iowa in August and if you have ever been to Iowa, you know that fun stuff is few and far between. Especially once the cold weather hit. But thank god for the Internet. I needed to find something to keep me busy and some way to get some adult interaction (i have 4 kids so i usually am talking about poopy, potty, sickies, pukie).

I would surf the Internet and it would take me forever to find cool stuff. So then I stumbled onto a blog…read it…and was hooked. This blog is actually my first blog.

This blog is all about family computing on the Internet. I am cooking up a series all about computers, families, and the Internet. It will start next week (so you know you want to come back for that). There is a Gamer Thursday I do. This is 2-3 little video games you and your family can play…some for little kids and some for the older kids (yea…my hubby plays the games too). It is all the cool things that you find on the Internet and wish you could find them all in one place. I simply post about neat stuff for kids, adults, and families. This blog is, for the most part, a family friendly blog.
I do hope you come back. I have some exciting plans for not only this blog, but for all my blogs. You will not be disappointed. And while you are here, why not enter my monthly drawing. Who doesn’t love free stuff and prizes? No one I tell you…no one!

Ok…so this is kind of a plug…but I love the picture so much I can hardly resist. I am starting a monthly contest and a nice young lady created some badges for me and my contest. This is one of them and I just love it!

Best of 2007: The 77 Best Shopping Sites You Should Have Gone To For Christmas Shopping.

December 28, 2007 · 1 Comment

Yea, you heard me. You should have gone to these places for your Christmas shopping. Oh well. There is always next year-and birthdays-and anniversaries-and for fun! This is a great list if stores you know, stores you have never heard of, and of places that simply have cool stuff.

(And just for the record…none of the links are affiliate links…I did not make this list to make myself money…I make it because there needs to be places where you can get everything you want and need all in one place–so Digg it, Stumble it, Delicious it…whatever you need to do to get back to the best shopping of the year!)

Now…on with the fantastic shopping.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS

FOR THE LADIES

CALLING ALL GUYS

My hubby helped me with these sites. There are several Land Rover shopping sites– because we own one. And yes…it is always broken and we are very addicted (if you have a rover, you will so understand…love it but it is a pain in our butts and pocketbook). There are a couple of manly-men forums but, like my hubby said, men don’t shop for clothes online so I need to put something in here. But they are great sites for all those hubbys out there.

FOR THE KID IN ALL OF US–mostly toys

Tis The Season To Spread Some Joy…

December 10, 2007 · 1 Comment

Christmas is the time of year to reach out to your fellow man…to do alittle good…to be friendly to both strangers and family. The best way to do this (with your computer, that is) is to network.

No matter what time of year, I love to network. With some of the networks, I just have a basic profile. With a select few, I am quite involved, or I try my hardest to be. Through all this networking and reaching out to my fellow man, I have found my favorite network platform.

It could be myspace. Maybe facebook. How about friendster. Nope, none of those.

My all time favorite is Ning. This is a fantastic site. Not only can you visit Ning and find a group on anything, you can go there and start your own group. I, myself, am the member of 8 groups and 3 waiting approval. I have even started a group about having multiple births to go along with my blog about the same.

Let us try some terms and find out what we come up with, shall we…

Check out any of those groups, or you can do a custom search for the group you are looking for. This is also a great way for families to keep in touch, share pictures, and have it totally private. You can make the group by invite and approval only. So no peeky-peeky by anyone not wanted.

And if you are into networking, like me, then this networking platform is a one-stop shop. You can join several groups, from working moms, to stay at home business, to marketing, to gaming, to scrapbooking, and only have to stop by one place. And you can invite your friends and family so you can just go to the one network to find everyone you ever wanted to network and reach out to.

So, go and spread some christmas cheer…and you will never guess…christmas has some networks too.

Family Gingerbread House Fun

December 8, 2007 · Leave a Comment

So I found this fantastic site by an artist who is wonderful. Click here and check out this post (yes…it is one of my other blogs but she is a great artist and it is a fun website…and besides–it includes a blog…who doesn’t like finding another fun blog). You won’t regret it…it is so much fun to make this stuff with your kids.
