Fun Monday

Gather around everyone. I am going to tell you a story today. A story of a woman who has lost her mind and needs tons of crap to remember her name and what is going on in her life.

Well, Candid Karina wants to see our security blankets–the grown up versions. Please, let me break it down for you:

1. My “little black book”–that is my phone…can’t leave home without it.
2. My “little gray book”–my address book…for those numbers that are not in my phone…you never know…you may just need one of them in a shopping time of need.
3. My ink pen–because you never know when that little piece of inspired thought will come along and damn it all to HE!! if you forgot your pen at home—or you need to write on your hand cause you can’t remember anything!!!
4. My notebook (the striped bigger notebook in the middle)–for all my blogging and freelance writing ideas—my hubby just shakes his head at that.
5. My Planner (the white and orange notebook on the right)–CAN NOT LEAVE WITHOUT IT–CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING WITHOUT IT–WOULD FORGET MY NAME WITHOUT IT–ok…i can’t remember anything…especially now that i have 4 kids. My planner is my lifeline!
6. And last but not least…My Coffee Cup. I am a stay at home mom so I need the biggest cup I can find for coffee and I don’t need a lid…WALA…the mother of all coffee cups…and yes…it does hold almost a whole pot of coffee. But believe it or not…i am still dog tired by the middle of the day.

Well, that is my story of a lady who can’t function without lots of notebooks and even more caffeine. Now go–look—check everyone else out.

Chunky Yet Funky here we come

I am Chunky yet Funky and proud of it…well…kind of proud.  If I lost some weight, I wouldn’t mind…my body wouldn’t mind either.  I am overweight but I am OK…wow…that sounds like 7th grade.  But I started this blog for all those larger ladies that need a place to feel ok…even proud…to find awesome clothes in their size…to find makeup and all that other lady stuff we love but sometimes our weight makes us think we don’t deserve.  This blog is a place to find that chunky yet funky middle ground where you love your skin, love showing it off is cool stuff, and want to be healthy!

Family Fun Friday (late but here)

This week we did Backyardigans Super Secret Super Spy. If your kids are a NickJr fan, you probably know about this. There was a hour long episode for this that my kids watched. It was a great episode that taught about teamwork and having fun. There is also a game online you can play. It is a 3-D game that my son just loves. There is a 3-D thing you have to download to play it but that is not a big deal. I printed out some of the stuff you can do with your kids to have your own Super Secret Super Spy (SSSS) Scavenger Hunt. There are spy sheets that come with a decoder wheel. You can even make your sheet at home if you want to and use this decoder wheel. I did all the SSSS stuff the night before. I hid the scavenger hunt cards and put the bags somewhere where they would find them easily in the morning. I put some “spy gear” and a spy snack in there…every spy needs something for their tummy.

The Road Not Taken–it is my inspiration for this blog

So my blogging buddy Jill (lil mouse) posted some poems…and low and behold…it is the poem that inspired me to try the problogging/freelance writing thing. 

The Road Not Taken – Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
